S. Deborah Kang, The INS on the Line: Making Immigration Law on the US-Mexico Border, 1917-1954
An associate professor in the History Department at California State University, San Marcos, Kang's research focuses on the relationship between law and society along the nation’s northern and southern borders and has been supported by research grants from the Huntington Library and the Clements Center for Southwest Studies. Published by Oxford University Press in 2017, her first book, The INS on the Line: Making Immigration Law on the US-Mexico Border, 1917-1954, offers a comprehensive legal history of the Immigration and Naturalization Service on the US-Mexico border during the first half of the twentieth century.

Robert Lee is a historian and junior fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows, where he studies the history of the United States. He is broadly concerned with western lands and their contested occupation. His current research focuses on US-Indian relations in the trans-Mississippi West and combines traditional archival investigation with emerging techniques in historical GIS. Originally from New York, he has a PhD in History from the UC, Berkeley, an MA in American Studies from the Universität Heidelberg, and a BA in History and Economics from Columbia University. Before attending graduate school, he was a manuscript cataloger at the Gilder Lehrman Collection.

Suzanne Junod came to FDA as a medical historian in 1984 and received permanent appointment as Historian in 1985. Received Ph.D. from Emory University (History of Medicine) in 1994. Specializes in the history of food and food regulation as well as history of medical devices and regulation.
